As I was looking at giraffe pictures yesterday, I got the idea of making a punch art giraffe.
Well, I did not want to keep it all to myself and thought I share this with the world. If you use my idea please link back to my blog and give me credit :)
Here is the card I made
I think it turned out super cute!!
I made a matching envelope (you see it behind the card) and even decorated the card on the inside a bit.
Inside
Here is what I used to make a giraffe:
Stampin' Up oval punch
McGill butterfly punch
McGill fleur de lis punch
Stampin' Up heart to heart punch
Sizzix framelits tag die the second smallest
How to cut...
Only half of a heart is needed for the eyes.
You need 2 big Fleur De Lis for the ears and nose holes.
Cut 2 butterfly bodies and nip the antennas off.
Save 2 round circles from the butterfly punch for pupils.
I stained my pupils later with brown
I cut a neck freehand.
Time to go around the edges and stain the giraffe pieces with some brown ink and a sponge. I made several at a time for later use.
I gave the giraffe some spots with an old flower stamp I had.
See what you have laying around and use something similar.
WAIT!!!! Cut a thin sliver with the oval punch of black cardstock.
Our giraffe needs a mouth :)
Time to assemble your little guy.
